continue reading...Close to 200 people enjoyed pasta and pizza with the pros and bid on items in a silent auction to support New Outlook in the ballroom at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Winners from the Junior Pro-Am event received their awards and Andreas Siljestrom (SWE) accepted the 2nd Annual Ann Loomis Sportsmanship Award. This award is given each year to the qualifying tournament player that the USTA officials and staff vote as the player who deserves a sportsmanship award for his attitude on and off the court. This is done in memory of Ann Loomis who died shortly before the tournament last year. Ann was part of the tournament for 27 years and always took a special interest in the younger players and their needs.
