Don’t miss A Taste of Tennis on Thursday evening. This is our premier social event of the week that will feature exquisite foods paired with wines from around the world to recognize the international field of tennis players who travel to Little Rock each year to play our tournament. A Taste of Tennis will be held in the Pleasant Valley Country Club ballroom and will feature a live auction and entertainment by Diane Kesling (bio below).
There will be five different food and wine stations featuring cuisine from around the globe.

Diane Kesling won the first SHREVEPORT SINGER OF THE YEAR competition, and the following season appeared in the title role of Hansel in HANSEL AND GRETEL. She is a graduate of THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, and upon graduation joined the prestigious Houston Opera Studio, where she studied with Elena Nikolaidi.
After winning the Shreveport Competition, Diane went on to win the Texas regional and the National Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions in New York, and was subsequently asked to join the Met Young Artist Program and became a member of the company where she has sung in over forty productions. She has been frequently seen in LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER productions, including the Emmy award winning HANSEL AND GRETEL, the Centennial Gala Performance, and Wagner’s RING CYCLE.
Leonard Bernstein chose Diane to sing the lead role of Dinah in his last new work, A QUIET PLACE, that was premiered in Houston , the Kennedy Center in Washington, and was the first American Opera performed at La Scala in Milan, Italy. Ms. Kesling career also has included many appearances with orchestras, including the Pittsburg Symphony, Boston Symphony, Houston Symphony, Columbus Symphony, and Indianapolis Symphony to name a few.
Ms. Kesling has added stage directing to her accomplishments. She has directed AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS for Spa Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and also with the Memphis Opera (TENN). The following season she directed DON GIOVANNI for Memphis Opera, and next season she will be overseeing and directing the world Premiere of THE SCARLET LETTER, by Lori Laitman, which will be produced at the University of Central Arkansas and later to be presented at the Kennedy Center. Diane has taught voice at Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas and recently was one of the singing performers for the Arkansas Symphony’s Holiday show. She currently resides in Hot Springs.
